The Socio-Economic Policy Planning (SEPP) Division serves as a resource for the development of medium and long-term strategies, policies and programmes for national development. In discharging its mandate, the Division engages in researching and analyzing domestic and international economic and social trends and issues, as the basis for informing public policy. The Division also provides support to the Minister of Planning and the Economy in his capacity as Governor for Trinidad and Tobago on the Board of Governors of the Caribbean Development Bank. Similar support is also provided to the Director for Trinidad and Tobago on the Board of Directors of the Caribbean Development Bank.
Currently, the Division is integrally involved in the implementation of the legitimation phase of the National Innovation System.
